Thunder Mountain Cabin is located on the property of Thunder Mountain adventures. The property is right next door to Tweedsmuir Provincial park in the Bella Coola Valley. Almost 1 million hectares of wilderness flank our property to the north and east.

Our property consists of paddocks, open fields and an arena for our Icelandic horseback riding program surrounded by cedar and fir forest. We have a large organic garden 60 x 60, and an orchard. While we are a working equestrian property with trail rides, riding lessons and three guest accommodation units, it is still our home and we still manage to maintain a peaceful wilderness vibe with views of the Coast Mountain range to the south. We are literally steps away from the Nuxalk-Carrier grease trail and the Mackenzie Heritage loop trail with it suspension bridge over the burnt bridge creek.

Thunder Mountain cabin is a comfortable cabin with great views from the deck and living area. The cabin comfortably sleeps a small family or a couple of friends with a queen bed in the bedroom, a double bed in the loft and a fold out bed in the living room. The loft is assessible by a ladder and is therefor not appropriate for very young children or anyone who has trouble with ladders. The cabin has a small kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, dinnerware, glasses and cutlery. There are basic herbs/spices and a selection of tea and coffee in the cupboards.

We are located at 4950 Mackenzie Hwy 20 in the Bella Coola Valley, about 1km west of the Tweedsmuir Provincial park's  west boundary entrance on the north side of the road. There is a small wooden sign at the driveway entrance

The driveway is right between Telephone/Hydro poles numbered 613 and 614.

Our property is 45 minutes east from the ferry terminal in Bella Coola and 25 minutes east from the Bella Coola airport in Hagensborg.

If driving from the east we are about 25 minutes from the bottom of "the Hill" and about a 5 hour drive from Williams Lake.  There is now a large overhead HWY information sign, less than a km before our driveway entrance on the left. You can't miss it!

The co-ordinates for our driveway are 52.43642 N, 126.20712 W

What3words location: enjoy.essence.guavas

Once you enter the drive its about 500 meters down and then just follow the signs to the Cabin/Tents to the left at the fork and then left again past the garden. The parking is right next to the BBQ pavilion below the cabin and tents.

You can unload right behind the cabin but then we ask you to re-park in the main area next to the pavilion to preserve the view and noise for other guests.

You can walk up to the cabin on the drive or follow the lawn lights up to the entrance.

If arriving after dark we will have the lights on for you in the cabin and it will be unlocked. The keys will be on the coffee table.
